Have you ever heard this phrase before? “Solus Christus.” It’s a Latin phrase that speaks to the history of the church all the way back to Jesus’ time. It means “only Jesus.” Jesus is the only one who could live perfectly, die on the cross, and rise from the grave. Only Jesus.
Over time, the church lost touch with that truth. The way to Jesus began to be taught as “Jesus and…..” Jesus and what you do for him, Jesus and your good works, Jesus and some extra penance is necessary to be saved.
In stepped a monk named Martin Luther. He rediscovered in the Bible the truth that we have been saved by grace alone, that we have been given that gift through faith alone, and that this is revealed to us through the Bible alone. The result was a Reformation.
Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone. These are things that keep us centered on Christ ALONE. Join us for the next three weeks as we dig into these three biblical truths as we seek to anchor ourselves straight into Jesus.
